Vegan Creamy Pumpkin Pasta

cheesy noodles and broccoli
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons butter (or vegan margarine)
2 cups pumpkin puree
2 cups chicken broth, made from vegan chicken broth powder
1/4 cups cashews + 1-3 Tbs water in blender till smooth
1/4 cup white wine
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 c parmesean cheese (I used the real thing because I do dairy every once in a while, you can use nutritional yeast)
1 lb pasta
