Strawberry Cream Pie with Whole Wheat Crust

2/3 c sugar
1/4 c cornstarch
1/2 t salt
3 c almond milk
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tb butter
1 Tb vanilla
1-2 tubs of strawberries
Sweetened whip cream

Stir sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Blend milk, egg yolks, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir one minute. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Press plastic wrap onto filling and cool to room temp. Wash and slice strawberries, arrange layer of slices 1/2 inch eep in baked pie shell. Poor in cooled filling. Chill pie 2 hours. Top with whipped cream.
